FOR THE COMMON GOOD

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Human welfare and concern for the environment are two sides of the same coin – you simply can’t have one without the other, and this belief is central to our identity as the Green Party. The relationship between human prosperity and the preservation of the world around us is fundamental to everything we do, and everything we stand for. When we commit ourselves to tackling climate change, to putting an end to poverty, and to ensuring equality for generations to come – we mean it.

Like our real life counterparts the MHoC Greens believe in the four pillars of green politics...

FOUR PILLARS OF GREEN POLITICS

GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY

We support increasing the power of the people through local government, direct democracy and devolution. The best decisions are made when government and people work together.

NON-VIOLENCE

We believe in moving our foreign policy away from military might, towards sustainable and cooperative investment overseas as the best way to ensure our safety global prosperity.

SOCIAL JUSTICE

We strive to ensure justice for all people by protecting the rights of minority groups. We believe in increasing democracy within the workplace, strengthening the unions and providing a universal basic income.

ECOLOGICAL WISDOM

We fight to make sure government respects our environment. Such respect is essential to human welfare, and to enabling communities to work with nature instead of against it. We fight to make sure we take the vital steps needed to stop climate change now, before it is too late.
